My Story

Hi! It's me, Cass Mondy. I've always been the girl with a camera. I played music, but I recorded it on a phone and watched it back. I took a thousand photos every time we went to the zoo. I flipped through all my mom's old printed photos and reorganized a 10 gallon bin full of them. I found my parent's old digital cameras, did photoshoots of my brothers, and used an ancient software on my parent's DELL computer to create photo collages to made photo books. I set up makeshift photos shoots with my friends on our iPhones. My husband often says to me that he appreciates the amount of photos that I take because he often forgets. My camera roll on my iPhone has been full and more storage bought, wayyyyyy too many times. Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, even before I realized it could be more than a hobby.

Long before I ever owned a "real" camera, I was obsessed with photography. I bought the latest iPhones just for the cameras. I'd spend hours playing around with photo editing apps, experimenting with the fancy effects (honestly, I should probably have been banned for some of the stuff I came up with but at the time I thought it was amazing 😂) and studying posing off of Pinterest. I started doing my family's pictures, but I didn't just want to take them, I wanted to create them. I'd set everyone up, carefully arranging everyone before handing the camera to someone else to press the shutter. I used to say "I wonder if I could have a photography business if I had a camera" a LOT. Finally, after some convincing, I went out and did.

Once I had my first camera in my hands, that was the end of all my free time. Since I'm me, I started researching EVERYTHING. I read all the blog posts I could find, followed all the photographers on instagram, watched countless YouTube videos on editing, posing, lighting, and camera settings. And I took pictures. Of literally anyone I could convince to hang out with me while I pushed buttons and experimented. I thank God for my friend Katie, who's now probably got an entire portfolio of photos if she ever wanted to be come a model. But I discovered something during all of this: Photography isn't just about taking pictures. It's about freezing moments in time. A smile, a quiet glance. The way someone's face lights up when they're with someone they love. They way that they felt in the moment. Capturing those moments and turning them into something they can hold onto forever - that's what I really fell in love with.

For me, photography is more than just an art - it's a way to help people see themselves the way I see them. And the way that I believe God sees His Creation. When God made people, He said it was 'very good'. Every freckle, every smile line, even the things that people hate about themselves, God said that it was 'very good.' I believe all people are beautiful and God made them that way, and yet, so many people don't believe that about themselves. That hurts my heart. My goal isn't just to take pretty pictures - it's to help people feel beautiful, confident, and seen. This is why I embrace a true to color editing style. I want my images to reflect you - as you truly are. The real, raw, beautiful version of you. The you that you were made to be.

When I deliver a gallery and get a text saying "wow, I actually feel beautiful in these," it makes my heart overflow. That's what photography is truly about for me. It's not just art - it's the people. It's about showing you what I already know to be true: You are beautiful. You just need to be shown it.

If you're ready to see yourself through my lens, let's uncover your beauty together!
